If a warrior catches the attention of the Dark Prince, Shalaxi Helbane will feel an impulse in his soul that will make him undertake an irrevocable mission. Shalaxi Helbane can see fear as a hazy cloud, smell a spell before it is cast, hear the sound of a mortal's thread of life being cut, or taste cowardice like bitter citrus. With these abilities, Shalaxi can track his prey even through the reality barrier and the Immaterium, making him almost elusive.
Shalaxi Helbane has many spectacular kills, including warrior kings, dragons, greater demons and the most powerful Tyranid bio-weapons. Shalaxi Helbane does not attack secretly, but rather openly challenges its prey with words such that it cannot refuse. Shalaxi is a master of hand-to-hand combat who can injure even the most powerful Bloodthirster with his long spear, called Soulpiercer. Shalaxi Helbane also uses a living whip with which she wraps a weapon around or binds an enemy, and a cloak with tentacled legs that grab and choke the opponent.
