Ultramarines Primaris Apothecary is a character who plays an honorable role in the Ultramarines order in the world of Warhammer 40,000. His task is not only to heal the wounded, but also to collect genetic data from fallen warriors to strengthen and perpetuate the power of the order.

The Ultramarines Apothecary is a medical specialist among the Primaris Space Marines who serves as a field doctor and researcher for their Chapter. His role in battle is to recover gene seeds from slain Astartes and to care for the wounded and maimed. Outside of combat, Apothecaries are responsible for monitoring the Chapter's neophytes for mutations or defects in their gene seed and organ implants unique to Space Marines, and for carrying out the implantation process in the neophytes.
An Apothecary, he is skilled in the art of battlefield first aid, as well as advanced surgical techniques, cybernetics, and bioengineering. Apothecary must be as brave as his fellow Space Marines, if not more so, as he must perform his life-saving operations in the middle of the battlefield. If a Space Marine is injured, Apothecary will use his medi-pack, called Narthecium, to tend to the wounds. Narthecium can provide medical assistance and perform complex surgeries - cauterize, stitch, remove fragments and much more. Even severely injured Space Marines can fight again with the help of Narthecium. While Chaplains are responsible for maintaining the spiritual health of the Space Marines within the Chapter, it is the role of the Constables to care for the physical well-being of their battle-brothers.
